We have done a lot of work in our house since January. For those of you who have never seen it or pictures. We live in a craftsman style house built in 1918. It was two bedroom and one bathroom in downtown Denver. Every house in Denver has a basement. Originally ours was one big room and we just kept junk in it. Oh and Ethan when he lived with us (ha..kidding). He did stay down there, but we made it into a nice bachelor pad for him. We recently renovated the basement and turned it into our bedroom with a nice walk in closet (something we did NOT have in the past), laundry room and bedroom. We then moved the guest bedroom from one room to our old bedroom and created Connor's room. Most people would not like their bedroom in a basement, but we are lucky to have windows and light and it is actually really nice and cool for sleeping. You can walk up the stairs from the basement to the sunroom and right into Connor's bedroom. So it works out perfectly for us.
We picked the "Plane" theme for his room because Joey loves airplanes and is a pilot himself. And I found this bedding at Pottery Barn Kids and fell in love with it. I love monogram, so it was perfect coming from Pottery Barn that I could monogram everything I bought. We have had the bed and changing table put together, but have not had anything hung on the walls yet. So, for Memorial Day (in between my naps) we finally hung all of his stuff.
The plane hanging from the ceiling, Connor's Aunt Stephanie gave him at his shower.
Last, but certainly not least, his closet full of clothes. I know he probably won't wear it all but once, but coming from a house full of girls it's hard not to buy everything cute you see for him. Besides, just because he is a boy doesn't mean he can't wear cute clothes. At least until he is old enough to fuss about it. Until then, his Mommy is going to keep buying more than just t-shirts and shorts.
The countdown is on. I can't wait for everyone to visit! It will be fun to get pictures of Emma and Connor together.
