What's in a name?

I think naming this child has been one of the harder things we have had to do....so far anyway. The name I always thought I would name a girl, just doesn't seem right now that I am pregnant. Maybe that means I am having a boy, who knows. Regardless, everyday I or Joey add another name to the list of long names we already have. The other thing, the one that annoys me, is people ask you if you have a name picked out yet, and when you give them a few names off your list, of course they give you their opinion of it. I didn't ask you your opinion, you asked me what we were thinking. Soooo we keep going back to one or two and I really think we may have it settled. But I am NOT telling!

  1. I'm with you on this one Maggie! My FIL, of all people, was the one that gave us the most hassle of the name this time around. We have a name (Allison Rae) but are not saying much about it to too many people right now. I mostly refer to her as "baby girl" when I'm around non-family/close friends.
It's the reactions you get from others (others that shouldn't have any influence) that make you re-think your decisions and make this more of an issue than it should.

BTW - I'm pulling for a girl! But regardless of what you have, the name you choose will be perfect for him/her!

  2. Personally, I thought special K was a perfect fit... Only a few weeks...I can't wait to find out!

  3. So, I'm going to do the opposite here of what the point you are making (i.e. give my opinion). I think "Junebug" is a beautiful name! That's what I'm going to call him/her. Well maybe not if it's a him... You know in "The Secret Life of Bees" all of the sisters are named after a month. So, they celebrate that sister the whole month. I think you said you saw the movie. Anyway, I'm changing my name to December and no I won't share with Emma! =)
